Rather new to running, just over a year. Transferred from PG to LP. I have runner's knee right now, and am hopefully gonna be back to full strength by the end of August.

Short-Term Running Goals:

If i get back into shape with my knee well, I want to get under 16:45 by region. Indoor Track: Sub 4:45, 2:07, 10:40.

Outdoor Track: sub 4:40, 2:05, 10:20.

 

 

 

Long-Term Running Goals:

Do lots of trialhalons, and make a name for myself in my community.

 

Personal:

16 year old junior at Lone Peak high school, love the mormon club games(ping-pong, air hockey, foosball, and pool), girls, mountain biking, swimming, basketball.

I ran 3.3 miles in the morning at a 8:15 pace.

Today I decided where I am going to go to school next year. I will be attending Lone peak high school.

We ran 5 miles today with a half mile of stride laps afterwards. We ra on the lindon heritage trail until a little past the last stop sign. we went pretty fast because paulo was with us. I think he likes o push it a lot because of wrestling. We averaged a 6:57 for the 5 miles. 2 stride laps afterwards.

I ran 5 this morning was feeling pretty good. I knew it wasn't going to be a super hard workout today at practice so I push it more than usual. I averaged a 7:14.

800 warmup, cooldown. 4x800 at mile race pace. Our first one was really slow. 2:50. After that 2:37,2:31,2:28. We ended just after 4 and we didn't want to go home yet so Austin, price, garrett and I went onto the shop building roof. I wanted to see if it would cave in so i jumped right over coaches room. The whole building shook. We got freaked out so went went down. We goofed of in the school afterwards.

Tonight wasthe perfect running weather so I went running again. I did 4 miles. I didn't really wanttosweat much, just wantedto go running. I averaged a 8:14 for each mile. It's been a while since ive gone above10 in a day. Also this is like my third time running 3 times in the same day

I ran from my new house today becasue I wanted to do something different. I ran to "Molly's". It's called mtn. dew to AF. I felt pretty good, and was planning on running around five miles because trail runs can be pretty difficuly. Averaged a 8:27 for each mile. It was perfect running weather.

I knew today was going to be short, because if region on wednesday and thursday. And I knew coach wouldn't let me run at region, so i pushed it and went further than usual for a morning run. I ran 6.2 at a 7:08 pace. I ran my "Coke corner" run. The reason it's called this is becasue my halfway point is a street that almost every house has a coke soda machine outside of its house.

for practice: 800 warmup, 2 sets of 4,3,2, and a 800 cooldown. the first set was pretty slow. Times were 1:08,48, and 30. In the second some of the JV guys went up with varsity so they could push themselves more. I was going to go, but I saw who ws in the second group so I stayed. There were only 4 of us. None of them are very good sprinters so I knew I could win all of them in the second set. One of my friends from lacrosse( they were practicing on the field), told me to run faster. I figured going with slower guys would make me look faster. I won all of them by at least 10 meters. Times were: 1:01, 42, 26.7. Coach told me I did good today, and he rarely says that, so I was satisfied with today.

Today I found out that I am 2nd on the team in mileage since the beginning of summer last year! That's because there is only 1 other person that has kept up with his mileage. That is Spencer Palmer. I told him I took my biking miles out. He said he had his in. Which made me kinda mad, becasue he got mad at me when during the summer I was adding in the biking miles

AM: 6.6 miles. Ran to temple and back. I made it a little bit of a tempo workout. I would go  sub 6 pace on streets going north or south, around 9 when east or west. Averaged a 7:25

PM: 3 miles easy. we actually started right at 3 today! Probably the first time ever. we ran to lindon park. It was me, garrett, price, austin and josh. We had a long jump competition off the swings at the park. The whole way back we sang songs from disney movies.

I woke up at 4 and couldn't go back to sleep. So at 4:45 i just decided to go for a run. I ran 8.7 miles. For me this is a long run, let alone one on the morning. I ran to lone Peak high school and back. This is from my current home, not my new house. My new house is just under a mile from the high school.

I didn't go running in the morning. I accidently slept in.

 I love long distance runs. I don't fel like i need to push myslef alot, and the further i go the more new places I get to see new places that i haven't been to before. I ran to legacy park and back. This is the 3rd longest run I have ever done. I averaged a 8:14. I ran there becasue that is where I will be going every day during the summer.

I have a pretty good guess every day what were are doing for practice. I guessed short and intense. I was right. 2 sets of 4 200's. 800 warmup and cooldown. There were only 10 guys so jv and varsity combined. I felt amazing the first 2 i wasn't out of breath, and i wasn't putting a lot of effort into it. I came in second onboth of those. Ethan won those (justin was doing the AP stats test so he wasn't there). I felt okay on the third and fourth. Not to good on the other set. Under 32 on all of them. PLaced in top 5 on all except 1.

this morning ryan said that he going to do XC in my honor. Which made me feel cool, excpet that i am not going to pg next year. I also found out today that the girl i like might do xc next year. Which made me really mad, and made me regret my decision. But she said she would miss me, so i felt better after that.

Coach didn't show up until almost ten, and we had practice at 9. It was just me, austin and tracer. Ran to lindon park and back. I had 5 pieces of french toast from kneaders before running, so i saw it 3/4 into the run. We had donuts afterward which didn't help my stomach. I ran home because I didn't have a ride. to lindon park and back we averaged a 7:08, and i averaged a 7:52 on the way home. took a detour so instead of 1.7 miles, it was 2.2. Ran at my new house at night easy 6 miles with my dad( so it would haft to be slow).

went 5.1 this morning. I want to do good at JV region tomorrow so everyone on lone peak dosen't think I am super slow. Averaged a 7:49.

I am getting sick of speed workouts. I am ready for XC. 8x100 with 800 wwarmup and cooldown. Went barefoot on the turf. Felt amazing. under 15 on all. When we were stretching owen said that he might throw a moving-away party for me, which made me feel wanted. I kid in my math class found out that I am going to LP next year and laughed at me and called me a rich kid. Which made me really mad for two reasons: My family is no where close to being rich, and his family is loaded. He got a 75,000 self customized BMW for his birthday, and totaled it 2 weeks later. His dad bought him a brand new one. Also, i've seen his house, and it is HUMONGOUS. It is almost 12,000 square feet, whick it almost 3 times the size of my new house, and i consider it to be a bigger one on my standards.

I sign up for classes today at LP, and i am super freaked out becasue i don't know any of the good teachers. I saw that i could take a modeling class, which was cool.

6 easy in morning

today sucked. I was the first leg which didn't make me happy. I knew our team wasn't going to place very well. It was me, garrett, tracer, and ethan. Ethan ran the 2 right before so he was exhausted. I went bad from the start. Around the 300 i picked up just in time for a headwind. I passed a guy from riverton right away, at the end a guy from herriman and almost a guy from lehi. The kid from LP was too far ahead to catch. On the bright side, i met some of my future teamates. They seemed pretty chill.

6.3 in morning. Mad about yesterday, so pushed it. I was proud of myself at end. Averaged a 6:47. I won't be able to go to practice for the next week ish which makes me sad. I will only have i week left after that with PG.

couldn't go to practice because working at the house. We were supposed to go hiking for mutual so i brough my watch. There weren't very many guys so we joined the priests and played ultimate. So much fun. I played how i always do. Pretty good on defense, iffy on offense. A longer game, ran 4.2 miles.

ran from my new house to old house. I t was hot out it was 3.7 miles. went on canal and then up the road to my house. Went faster on canal, not so much on  hills. averaged a 7:38.

I was at my new house working and the bishop to my new wawrd came over and gave us some cookies. While he was talking to my mom my mom asked if anyone in the youth did track and cross country. He said there was! My mom didn't remember his name, but she said that there were 13 kids in his family. I am pretty sure that there is only 1 guy on the team with that number of siblings. Adam, if u ever read my blog, if u know, could u tell me who this is?

had 4 hours with nothing to do. Went for distance today, not speed. Ran from my new house to about a mile south of battle creek canyon. 15.4 miles of pure awesomness. Longest run i have ever done, and it was all on trails too. felt amazing. Not thirsty, aching or sore.

3.17 before school. Cut it short because i felt terrible.

I was talking to tanner and he said i should take a break or i might get injured. For a second i thought he wanted me to take a break becasue i am going to LP nxt year, and i thought we wanted me to be slower. But i took his advice, and went mountain biking with my brother today. I was awesome. We went around G mountain. It was pretty tricky and scary in some parts. At one point there was a fifty foot drop right next to the trail. I didn't crash, but my brother did. Whick made me laugh

only kind of cardio was riding by bike to school and back today. I did a Spencer's ab workout and a vertical jump workout. I've always wanted to be able to dunk on a full size rim, and i am supposed to grow 3 more inches max, so my vertical needs to go up. At the moment i can touch rim on a ten foot hoop.

 was going to take another day off, except i saw that tanner was ahead of me in mileage. I can't have that happen. Ran 3.7 in morning. Tomorrow and friday i road in the morning so iam not going to wake up a 4:30 to go running so this weeks mileage is going to e really low. I won't be able to run on saturday because I am moving that day! Played ultimate with some friends, short game. 1.2 miles

Ran to my new house and back on the BST. had more time than I thought. Averaged a 8:04. I put this alarm thing on my watch so if i ever go slower than a 8:30 pace it makes a weird sound. I am getting way pumped for summer, even though im a little nervous.

i got out of school early today, so when i went running it was way hotter than usual. After school i went and worked for an hour and a half. I work for my uncle, he owns a landscaping business, and i was working at a house in alpine that was the size of my high school. Ran home from there. took a long cut to get a couple more miles in. Averaged a 7:18. I wore a black shirt today and that was dumb of me. I am way pumped for next year. Summer is going to be awesome. I love waking up in the morning and going running right away. I think LP will be a little faster than PG but PG will be a little deeper in my opinion.

played soccer for practice. I stink at and don't like soccer. We played no goalie except on penalty kicks. I was goalie for 2 of them. One was a sick save, i hit it off my head and barely went out. The othert was super embarresing. It went right through my legs. We had a water balloon fight afterwards. I ran around 1.3 miles

Today was awesome and it stunk at the same time. it was yearbook day at school, and i actually went to school today. Afterwards some friends and I went over to tanner's house to hang out. We took a long cut, so i am going to call it around 1 and a quarter. My friends were on bikes, so it was a bit quicker. Around a six mintue mile i'm guessing. we played basketball at tanner's church. Not to much running, probably a 800 max. I stunk it up, becasue the people I was going against actually play. For practice, we played basketball. I did a lot better this time than with my friends. I had a lot of assists. I biked home which stunk a lot. I hadn't eaten anything sice 6:45 in the morning, and all the running was pretty fast. I got home at 5:30. Tanner said today that he thinks i will make varsity for lone peak next year. That made me feel good. I was talking to a guy from my ward that does XC( not jamison), and he said that only 4 kids have really secured their spots on varsity for next year. those guys are adam, jacob, zack, and jamison.  After that, he said that there is a big clump of guys. I've compared times, and I think i shoud be the 6th or 7th guy next year, Unless, if some freshman come out of  no where. I am way pumped for summer training. today was my last day at pleasant grove, both with school and with practice. big frowny face. I will still we them at races though. I found out today that zac Jacklin is a junior, which suprised me, i thought he was a senior.

oneof the most random workouts ever. 1.41 "warmup" ( way too fast for a warmup, my mile split was at 6:04). then a 2 mile. time was 11:24. A PR. I felt awesome. 2 400's 4 200's 6 100's 1.41 cooldown. Went from my house to PLHS track, did workout and came home. 1.41 cooldown mile split was 7:14. I am freaked out for practice on monday. I want to do really well, but I am always dehydrated the day after fast sunday. This last month i had more miles than any other month. 209.7 miles. overall i averaged a 7:38, and burned over 24,000 calories.
