Rather new to running, just over a year. Transferred from PG to LP. I have runner's knee right now, and am hopefully gonna be back to full strength by the end of August.

If i get back into shape with my knee well, I want to get under 16:45 by region. Indoor Track: Sub 4:45, 2:07, 10:40.

Outdoor Track: sub 4:40, 2:05, 10:20.

Do lots of trialhalons, and make a name for myself in my community.

Okay, first I am going to need to apoligize because it has been YEARS since i have written on here. So I didn't run in the morning because I went to bed at 2 in the morning. I didn't want to go to practice today becasue I really wanted to do kick simulators for some reason. We usually do them with 1000's but I did them on my 800 course that I made near my house. My race times lately in races have been freakishly slow lately.  For some reason I can push myself alot harder when I do them by myself. My times were 2:23, 2:25, 2:28, 2:23, 2:19. We have a race on wednesday against lone peak. I am excited because I am moving into Lone Peak territory and I might be going to Lone Peak next year. I know that they were really good this past year but most of their fast guys are seniors. I am still deciding where to go. But if I do go to lone peak, I might just run by myself and not with their XC and track team. I can push myself harder by myself and I don't want to feel like a traitor to my team right now, Pleasant grove. I would just do some road races and maybe a couple of ragnars.

Last saturday I was supposed to run at the Tiger trials invitational in the 2 mile. I was going to try to get under 11:20. But I couldn't go because it was my sisters birthday and I would have been gone all day. I got to watch my mom and two of my little brothers run a 5K on saturday though! It made me mad that I couldn't run it because there weren't any serious runners there. I could have won it by at least 6 1/2 minutes. the fasteset time was 24:54.1!

I did my 5k course ethat I made up in the morning. time was 20:19.

Todays workout reminded me of what distance runner's used to do in like the fifties. Short and intense. We did 8 100's all out with 30 seconds break. my times were 13,15,13,15,13,15,12,16. The thirteens and twelves were with the wind at my back. The others it was right in my face. I was kind of mad when coach said that we were doing a workout on the track. That is because we usually have confession sessions the day before a dual meet( or on tuesday). I was disappointed. Oh yeah, we did a 800 warm up and cool down.

Today I had a dual meet against lone peak. It stunk and rocked I got 5:19 in the mile which I wasn't happy about it. During the race a bunch of girls from lone peak were yelling"Go Spencer"! Later, I went and talked to the girls. They seemed really nice and there were like 6 of them. 5 of them were pretty cute. They tried to convince me to go to Lone Peak next year. I also ran the 4x4. I did the second leg. whenever someone handed off the baton were supposed to yell something stupid. So I yelled "for narnia"! I handed it off to josh and he didn't even start to run until i had handed him the baton. So afterwards I almost faceplanted. Luckily, I only scraped up my knee. I got 63 seconds in the 400. The girl that is going to be in my ward came and asked me if I was okay, I said that I was fine. And it looked like she actually cared about me!

I ran 3.13 miles in the morning at a 8:30 pace

I ran 3.3 miles in the morning at a 8:15 pace.

Today I decided where I am going to go to school next year. I will be attending Lone peak high school.

We ran 5 miles today with a half mile of stride laps afterwards. We ra on the lindon heritage trail until a little past the last stop sign. we went pretty fast because paulo was with us. I think he likes o push it a lot because of wrestling. We averaged a 6:57 for the 5 miles. 2 stride laps afterwards.

I ran 5 this morning was feeling pretty good. I knew it wasn't going to be a super hard workout today at practice so I push it more than usual. I averaged a 7:14.

800 warmup, cooldown. 4x800 at mile race pace. Our first one was really slow. 2:50. After that 2:37,2:31,2:28. We ended just after 4 and we didn't want to go home yet so Austin, price, garrett and I went onto the shop building roof. I wanted to see if it would cave in so i jumped right over coaches room. The whole building shook. We got freaked out so went went down. We goofed of in the school afterwards.

Tonight wasthe perfect running weather so I went running again. I did 4 miles. I didn't really wanttosweat much, just wantedto go running. I averaged a 8:14 for each mile. It's been a while since ive gone above10 in a day. Also this is like my third time running 3 times in the same day

I ran from my new house today becasue I wanted to do something different. I ran to "Molly's". It's called mtn. dew to AF. I felt pretty good, and was planning on running around five miles because trail runs can be pretty difficuly. Averaged a 8:27 for each mile. It was perfect running weather.

I knew today was going to be short, because if region on wednesday and thursday. And I knew coach wouldn't let me run at region, so i pushed it and went further than usual for a morning run. I ran 6.2 at a 7:08 pace. I ran my "Coke corner" run. The reason it's called this is becasue my halfway point is a street that almost every house has a coke soda machine outside of its house.

for practice: 800 warmup, 2 sets of 4,3,2, and a 800 cooldown. the first set was pretty slow. Times were 1:08,48, and 30. In the second some of the JV guys went up with varsity so they could push themselves more. I was going to go, but I saw who ws in the second group so I stayed. There were only 4 of us. None of them are very good sprinters so I knew I could win all of them in the second set. One of my friends from lacrosse( they were practicing on the field), told me to run faster. I figured going with slower guys would make me look faster. I won all of them by at least 10 meters. Times were: 1:01, 42, 26.7. Coach told me I did good today, and he rarely says that, so I was satisfied with today.

Today I found out that I am 2nd on the team in mileage since the beginning of summer last year! That's because there is only 1 other person that has kept up with his mileage. That is Spencer Palmer. I told him I took my biking miles out. He said he had his in. Which made me kinda mad, becasue he got mad at me when during the summer I was adding in the biking miles

AM: 6.6 miles. Ran to temple and back. I made it a little bit of a tempo workout. I would go  sub 6 pace on streets going north or south, around 9 when east or west. Averaged a 7:25

PM: 3 miles easy. we actually started right at 3 today! Probably the first time ever. we ran to lindon park. It was me, garrett, price, austin and josh. We had a long jump competition off the swings at the park. The whole way back we sang songs from disney movies.

I ran to lone Peak high school and back. This is from my current home, not my new house. My new house is just under a mile from the high school.

 I love long distance runs. I don't fel like i need to push myslef alot, and the further i go the more new places I get to see new places that i haven't been to before. I ran to legacy park and back. This is the 3rd longest run I have ever done. I averaged a 8:14. I ran there becasue that is where I will be going every day during the summer.

I have a pretty good guess every day what were are doing for practice. I guessed short and intense. I was right. 2 sets of 4 200's. 800 warmup and cooldown. There were only 10 guys so jv and varsity combined. I felt amazing the first 2 i wasn't out of breath, and i wasn't putting a lot of effort into it. I came in second onboth of those. Ethan won those (justin was doing the AP stats test so he wasn't there). I felt okay on the third and fourth. Not to good on the other set. Under 32 on all of them. PLaced in top 5 on all except 1.

this morning ryan said that he going to do XC in my honor. Which made me feel cool, excpet that i am not going to pg next year. I also found out today that the girl i like might do xc next year. Which made me really mad, and made me regret my decision. But she said she would miss me, so i felt better after that.

Coach didn't show up until almost ten, and we had practice at 9. It was just me, austin and tracer. Ran to lindon park and back. I had 5 pieces of french toast from kneaders before running, so i saw it 3/4 into the run. We had donuts afterward which didn't help my stomach. I ran home because I didn't have a ride. to lindon park and back we averaged a 7:08, and i averaged a 7:52 on the way home. took a detour so instead of 1.7 miles, it was 2.2. Ran at my new house at night easy 6 miles with my dad( so it would haft to be slow).

went 5.1 this morning. I want to do good at JV region tomorrow so everyone on lone peak dosen't think I am super slow. Averaged a 7:49.

I am getting sick of speed workouts. I am ready for XC. 8x100 with 800 wwarmup and cooldown. Went barefoot on the turf. Felt amazing. under 15 on all. When we were stretching owen said that he might throw a moving-away party for me, which made me feel wanted. I kid in my math class found out that I am going to LP next year and laughed at me and called me a rich kid. Which made me really mad for two reasons: My family is no where close to being rich, and his family is loaded. He got a 75,000 self customized BMW for his birthday, and totaled it 2 weeks later. His dad bought him a brand new one. Also, i've seen his house, and it is HUMONGOUS. It is almost 12,000 square feet, whick it almost 3 times the size of my new house, and i consider it to be a bigger one on my standards.

I sign up for classes today at LP, and i am super freaked out becasue i don't know any of the good teachers. I saw that i could take a modeling class, which was cool.

6 easy in morning

today sucked. I was the first leg which didn't make me happy. I knew our team wasn't going to place very well. It was me, garrett, tracer, and ethan. Ethan ran the 2 right before so he was exhausted. I went bad from the start. Around the 300 i picked up just in time for a headwind. I passed a guy from riverton right away, at the end a guy from herriman and almost a guy from lehi. The kid from LP was too far ahead to catch. On the bright side, i met some of my future teamates. They seemed pretty chill.

ran from my new house to old house. I t was hot out it was 3.7 miles. went on canal and then up the road to my house. Went faster on canal, not so much on  hills. averaged a 7:38.

I was at my new house working and the bishop to my new wawrd came over and gave us some cookies. While he was talking to my mom my mom asked if anyone in the youth did track and cross country. He said there was! My mom didn't remember his name, but she said that there were 13 kids in his family. I am pretty sure that there is only 1 guy on the team with that number of siblings. I was talking to tanner and he said i should take a break or i might get injured. For a second i thought he wanted me to take a break becasue i am going to LP nxt year, and i thought we wanted me to be slower. But i took his advice, and went mountain biking with my brother today. I was awesome. We went around G mountain. It was pretty tricky and scary in some parts. At one point there was a fifty foot drop right next to the trail. I didn't crash, but my brother did. only kind of cardio was riding by bike to school and back today. I did a Spencer's ab workout and a vertical jump workout. I've always wanted to be able to dunk on a full size rim, and i am supposed to grow 3 more inches max, so my vertical needs to go up. At the moment i can touch rim on a ten foot hoop.

i got out of school early today, so when i went running it was way hotter than usual. After school i went and worked for an hour and a half. I work for my uncle, he owns a landscaping business, and i was working at a house in alpine that was the size of my high school. Ran home from there. took a long cut to get a couple more miles in. Averaged a 7:18. I wore a black shirt today and that was dumb of me. I am way pumped for next year. Summer is going to be awesome. I love waking up in the morning and going running right away. I think LP will be a little faster than PG but PG will be a little deeper in my opinion.

Today was awesome and it stunk at the same time. it was yearbook day at school, and i actually went to school today. Afterwards some friends and I went over to tanner's house to hang out. We took a long cut, so i am going to call it around 1 and a quarter. My friends were on bikes, so it was a bit quicker. Around a six mintue mile i'm guessing. we played basketball at tanner's church. Not to much running, probably a 800 max. I stunk it up, becasue the people I was going against actually play. For practice, we played basketball. I did a lot better this time than with my friends. I had a lot of assists. I biked home which stunk a lot. I hadn't eaten anything sice 6:45 in the morning, and all the running was pretty fast. I got home at 5:30. Tanner said today that he thinks i will make varsity for lone peak next year. That made me feel good. I was talking to a guy from my ward that does XC( not jamison), and he said that only 4 kids have really secured their spots on varsity for next year. those guys are adam, jacob, zack, and jamison.  After that, he said that there is a big clump of guys. I've compared times, and I think i shoud be the 6th or 7th guy next year, Unless, if some freshman come out of  no where. I am way pumped for summer training. today was my last day at pleasant grove, both with school and with practice. big frowny face. I will still we them at races though. I found out today that zac Jacklin is a junior, which suprised me, i thought he was a senior.

oneof the most random workouts ever. 1.41 "warmup" ( way too fast for a warmup, my mile split was at 6:04). then a 2 mile. time was 11:24. A PR. I felt awesome. 2 400's 4 200's 6 100's 1.41 cooldown. Went from my house to PLHS track, did workout and came home. 1.41 cooldown mile split was 7:14. I am freaked out for practice on monday. I want to do really well, but I am always dehydrated the day after fast sunday. This last month i had more miles than any other month. 209.7 miles. overall i averaged a 7:38, and burned over 24,000 calories.

You can now call me a Lone Peak knight. Today went different then expected. I didn't do very well on the run, but it was still a good day. I would give today a 6/10. We went just over 4 and a 1/2 on this one run that i can't remember the name of. There weren't very many guys there. 15 max. Today i could guess which people were returning runners and the newbies. THere are around 6 or 7 new freshman that are coming in, which is good. During the run i had to go to the bathroom the whole time. So, i turned a bit back before most. I shouldn't have done that. It made me look like a noob. I could tell that 3 guys there defintely had their spots on varsity, and adam for sure also( he wasn't there). I have been looking up times from athletic.com and mile split on runners from LP, and the next 2 after those guys were spencer king and william bradshaw. I found out that spencer king won't be coming very much. And if i am thinking of the right guy, william might not do XC. we was still at practice though. So that leaves 3 spots open max!! I really want to make varsity but i doubt i will be scoring. for Most of the first time runners it seemed like they pushed it too hard. I wouldn't be suprised if they are sore tomorrow. There are some things that have stood out to me about LP's boys team:

1. they all seem to be pretty good kids

2. they ALL kept their shirts on.

3. Jacob warner talks A LOT.

4. I have already found the spencer palmer for LP( the guy who bugs me a lot, i can't remember his name but he is a freshman).

Did a core workout afterwards. I haven't done a serious one in a while, so it was brutal. One of the coaches: tawny, i think, ran for PG in high school. Which was cool. I am getting a new pair of running shoes today. I have about 750 miles on my ones right now. They are falling apart. I rips all along the foot on both. Once i get them, tomorrow i will start to use the shoe mamager. I want to get a pair of saucony virrata's.

barefoot run at heritage park felt awesome. 1 mile exactly. Did a spped workout there and back from my house. it is .57 miles

We ran to sliding rock and back. THe coaches said that we didn't need to push it, and i was fine with that. But then clayson showed up, so it was a lot quicker than i anticipated it would be. We averaged around a 7:30 on the way up and around a 8:00 on the way back, which was weird. We went up 400 feet in elevation on the way and still went faster. Once we came back we ran to alpine elementary and back. This was around 6 minutes for the mile. Jamison has been giving me rides to and from practice today and yesterday. Once we about to leave, he realized that he didn't have the right key to open the car. So he had to go get his families huge bus like van to take us home in. THere were like 6 of us. I was starving. I had eaten a salad for breakfast, which is actually supposed to be good for u right before a run. I didn't feel sick at all, but i didn't eat enough. Ate 4 waffles once I got home. My dad bought me a pair of running shoes yesterday without me knowing. He bought them online. HE got me a pair of Altra torin's. They seemed like pretty good shoes. They are supposed to minimize  shin splints, bunions, and tendonitus. THey aren't supposed to come for another week.

I laid an egg today at practice. I don't like making excuses but i have a couple. THe water wasn't working yesterday at my house for some reason, so i was super dehydrated. Also, i still have to run in my turd nugget shoes for another week. My order was messed up and I fixed it yesterday, and they are being shipped on wednesday. We took 2 little breaks with the A&B groups together, and at the first i came in at dead last, the second 2nd to last, by just a second though. once we got to lambert i went back with this guy named will. He seemed pretty chill. I found out that i beat him by 4 seconds at region, which was cool. once we got back we were only at 4.3 so we did an extra 2. For all of it i averaged a 7:24. We did abs afterwards, but not pushups, so i did some when i got home. I just did as many as i could do without taking a break. 48, yeah i'm a weakling. I think i am going to do that evry monday from now on.

Accordin to my watch, i ran 2.02 miles at a 25:18 pace. My satellites didn't finish loading until 2/3 of the way into the run. I started the stopwatch when we began though, so when it first started to work i had gone over 40 minutes without going anywhere. Besides that, an okayish run. 62 minutes. I actually finished around 55 but no one was back yet so i just did an extra mile so i wouldn't haft to wait. I stayed with the faster group for longert than yesterday, but i could tell that they were going slower than yesterday. This 11 year old kid kept up with the "A" group the whole time!! He is going to be crazy fast. i found out today that jacob warner is the 3rd fastest senior this year. 2nd in 5A. We ran through this persons backyard, and went through a "hobbit hole". A good, long run.

Today was probably the best day both fun wise, and how well i did. Did a trail run called "the mountain run" went through the top of lambert for a bit i think. My goal today was to finish right behind this justin kid. I stayed right with him until the last 3/4 of a mile when he went up with the fast group. When we finished the trail part, i came in 5th, so that was good. the guys ahead of me were: jacob, adam, jamison, and justin. With a mile left, i saw that i was averaging a 8:18. YIKES! I made a promise to myself that every run that I did that wasn't a super long run or super steep hills, I would always average under a 8 minute mile. I ran with baker the last mile and we hammered it. I ended up averaging a 7:52. My last mile was 5:53! I am making new friends every day at practice, which is good. At the moment, i am still not all gung-ho about transferring, but I know it's what i needed to do. I got an email from the internet website i ordered my shos from. They have been shipped. They are coming from the lake tahoe area, so they should be here by friday!

today for practice we played a game with chalk. One group would leave 3 minutes earlier and draw arrows where they went. Another group would wait 3 minutes and chase the chalk writers. I was a chaser. Right from the start, i knew that my group was going to lose. Our fastest guy was jamison. The other team had jacob warner and adam. I knew that jamison couldn't catch them . No offense to jamison thou. the first couple of miles were all uphill, and i was trying to stay within 50 yards of jamison. He was going pretty fast. the 2 mile split was at 12:18. Averaged a 6:45 overall. 5.5 miles  From what i heard, jacob w. was doing the chalk writing. At one point he started to run out of chalk, so i didn't know which way to go. Jamison and seth were just barely out of sight, and i was by myself so i had to wait for everyone else to catch up. Which took close to 5 minutes. THe slower ones in my group were: the 11 year old kid, jacob jensen and howie. Howie got lost and we never found him. we drove around for a while trying to find him. During this time i was supposed to be at work. I got to work 45 minutes late. But, by some miracle my brother wasn't there yet. In fact he showed up an hour and 15 minutes later. I worked for 8.5 hours, just weeding. terribly boring. But i get payed 9 an hour so i was a little more motivated to do it. When i got home i realized my shoes had came. Finally! Did an easy 3.5 mile  run with my dad at night averaged a 8:56. they are super comftorable. I wore a pg basketball shirt today to practice. Jacob warner that that my shirt is offensive. I thought about wearing my track or xc shirt tomorrow, but, we are having a breakfast burrito part at his house tomorrow, and i want to be able to have some. We are playing ultimate frisbee tomorrow and i am super excited for it.

5ish miles today. Went for a 28 minute 4 mile run, then ran to a park to play frisbee. At PG we would play ultimate for the whole workout, and i didn't see why we did this. After a 10 minute explination of how to play, we played for 5-10 minutes. Everybody's running together was probablt an 800. Went to lil warner's house afterwards ad made breakfast burritos. I go on my father's and son's campout tonight, and it's in heber. There are supposed to be some cool trails nearby, so i will brin my trail shoes and go for a short one tonight and a long one tomorrow. My shoes felt awesome, but it was weird having so muchroom for my toes. I will get used to it though.

My mini xc camp. Was at 7500 ft in elevation, was breathing hard the whole time. 2 7.5 runs. Felt good to run in cooler weather. Used my trail shoes. same run, one in morning, 1 in afternoon. 2nd backwards of first. New team was doing a run called hog's hollw: a long, hilly, trail run, so i needed to do something hard.

Sliding rock and back and then to dumpster. Went with the "A" group for most of it. There were 5 super seniors there. Ran with clayson the last couple of miles. He said that he was originally going to move to lindon. That would have been way cool to have him on the pg team. 3 miles down were all under 6:15 but they were downwill. To dumpster was just under 6.

My family went to the super cool park that is like .5 miles from westlake. I went over to the course and did my own race simulation. I had just read that connor mantz had ran a 4:07, so i wanted to go fast. My watch said 2.98 at the end, so maybe i forgot a little something in the course. All I wanted to do was get sub 18, and I did! Final time was 17:48. If this was a real race, i think i could have been around 30 seconds faster. I was not very hydrated, ran in trainers, no competition, and I didn't prepare for it being a race mentally and physically, and also I had a good workout in the morning. I know my race time would be faster, but happy with my time. A good improvement from my 19:26 at region.

Ran the black trail again. I am already tired of it and we have only ran it 3 times. Once the "C" group turned back, we picked up the pace a lot. It was kind of weird today because jamison was kind of the guy in charge, because lil warner wasn't there. There were a couple of super seniors there, mike and mark, i think. . The last 2 were pretty fast. I kept up with jamison and mark and mike until the last half mile, when they pushed it more. I started to chafe( is that how u spel it)? and i slowed down a lot. Averaged a 7:15. Abs and core afterwards. Today when we were running on the roads i counted how many sporty cars i saw. 18 total!  9 Audis, 6 BMW's, 1 Maaserati, a camero, and my dream car a tesla. I think electric cars are cool, and so are sport cars. Electric sport cars are the bomb!

Did the mountain run with a lot of different long cut trails before and after. My favorite run we have done so far. I came in 2nd for the guys that are going to be on the team next year. galen and lil' warner weren't there. With about a mile left i had to tie my shoe, and my hand were freezing so it took close to a minute and a half. After that i did a hald mile tempo to catch up. My 800 split was 2:21! A fun run, but kind of weird. Was freezing to start out and at the end a couple of guys had their shirts off. One of our coaches: ryan, will be running with us tomorrow. He ran a 4:07 in either college or high school. I think it was college. Averaged a 7:46.

I fell behind today, but i think that was a good thing. My legs felt like lead for some reason, which is weird because yesterday wasn't a big hill workout. Two of our fastest runners, galen and zack, were back today which is good. lil' warner said that we were going to do "rodeo", which is a route u can take in lambert. I though that was weird, because runners aren't allowed to go on that route. After I fell behind, i realized that howie and shaun were way behind me. Both said that they weren't familiar with lambert. I went back and picked them up and started to go back, once we got off of lambert, i started to go race pace for that little trail between lambert and the hill sprints hill. I lost shaun right away and howie a little after that. I kept going past the hill for a little bit to get some more time in, and still pushed it. Then ran back to legacy and found out everybody had been back for something close to 15 minutes. Only lil' warner, clayson, and galen weren't back yet. Did abs afterwards. I found out today running basically kills ur vertical, and i was pretty pooped about hearing that. With doing my worjouts for my vertical, i have increased my leap 1.5 inches in a month. I am stil going to do the workouts. Averaged a 7:58 over the whole run. During the fast 1.4 mile split was 6:00. I am getting tired of distance runs. I can't wait until we start speed and tempo workouts, even if thier harder.

Did the mountain run backwards today. I like going forward on it a lot better. My calves felt like lead again, so i took it pretty easy. Averaged an 8:14, but i was fine with that. There is a breakfast party at some girls house, but today i would much prefer my bowl of grape nuts for some reason. I found out htat a lot of the guys on the team hate the girls team, which is kind of funny. There aren't any cute girls on the team though, which i am majorly dissapoited about. I had a dream last night that the PG team for field trip friday went to sliding rock. I made sure we didn't go there today.

I slept in, so i missed practice. Which was a bummer, because i haven't been to a saturday practice yet, and i won't be able to until the 3rd week of july. If there were such things as adventure runs on roads then today was one. First i went down to heritage park and went north on the trail to the end. Then i went up the hill to the trail that goies through the golf course. I joined the runners in the AF half from mile 8.5 until the finish, but i went out of the way before the finish line. I counted how many people that i passed, and i passed 247.5 people. When i was close to the finish line the clock for the half was just past 2 hrs. I turned back after that and went up to the pond and did a bunch of little trails. I went on the canal about half of a mile after that heading east. I ran into steven, which was suprising, because i thought we would be at practice. He said he didn't want to go running up another mountain today, so he went with his dad. Which i thought was funny, because from what i heard they were going to do a run called lehi dip, and that dosen't sound like a trail run. I then took a trail that i had never been on for a mile or 2 then heading back. At the end i finised it in 1 hour 31 minutes and 2 seconds. Averaged a 7:42. I was a little suprised, but when i was running with the people doing the half marathon, i was running sub seven pace the whole time. I saw happy with my run, it was a good one. Killer ab workout afterwards. I burned over 1500 calories during the run, so that was pretty cool. That's probably how much i'm going to eat today. I used to eat a lot but now I only eat at meal time, and my lunch and breakfast aren't very big. I got my watch on christmas, and today i hit the 1000 mile mark with it. no be exact, 1002.4 miles. I have burned over 100,000 calories since then, and for all of those miles i averaged a 7:58.

There were a ton of guys there 20 i think. a third of them were super seniors. Some are leaving on wednesday, so they said their final goodbye. I felt kinda aquard becasue they were saying by to everyone except me. We headed up to sliding rock, but it's closed off at the moment, so we went up that road for no reason. Headed over to the north stake center and the rest of the b team headed back so i did too. WIth a mile left, i was with the 11 year old byabiee kid, and craik. I told myself that i didn't want to be saying on here anymore that i finished next to an 11 year old, even if he is a beast for his age. Spencer king and this guy from michigan were probably a fifth of a mile ahead, and my goal was to catch up to them by the end. The last mile was downhill, which was nice, but i was still pushing it. Caught them at the end, and my last mile was a 5:38! super happy. I told craik to come with me, but he fell behind in about 30 seconds. Today when i was running by myself i ranked everyone on hw fast they were and what positions they would be in. here it is:

1-2 adam jensen and jacob warner. Jacob was faster in xc last year, but adam did way good during track, so idk who is faster.

3-4 Zack ericksen and jamison wilkes. i think zack is a little faster, but it's close.

5-10 a lot of guys in the mix. Jaxon, seth, justin, me and stephen, spencer king, and that kid that moved from michigan. Will be exciting to find out who ends up on varsity. I think i can pass spencer k., the kid from michigan, and steven. That would put me in the 8th spot. Seth and justin don't come very much, and jaxon 2-4 times a week. Can;t wait for the upcoming season. Will probably run some easy miles tonight.

I have always wanted to do this, but i regret it. Fiber-1 eating contest and then a half mile for everyone you eat. Had to run the whole thing. No bathroom breaks. On the road this time. Sea level is awesome, but the humidity is terrible. When i finished it was 89%. Averaged a 8:39. Seems really slow, but for having to go to the bathroom for 7 of those miles, i'm satisfied with it.

First mile was on the beach, which took it out of me, and everyone else. Me and my cousin by the .5 mark were at least a couple hundred yards ahead of everyone else. First mile was 6:40. too slow. surged for a quarter mile and got 50 or so yards on my cousin, and it kept growing. Felt good until mile 4, and then I sped up to make sure i won by alot. my splits were all over the place. Fastest 5:34(mile 5) and slowest 6:40(first, and on beach, in sand. Had donuts and orange juice afterwards, which was good. This isn't a official race, but i have only 2 real races posted on the blog, and that needs to go up. Mile warmup and cooldown also. 2nd place was my cousin and he got 40:12. Way good for only a week of running! looked at the mileage board today, and i am 0.05 miles ahead of galen, which made me feel good. I will do at least 12 tomorrow to keep ahead of him, even though i know he's way faster than me. I am only at 242 this summer so far, and if i want to get to 600 by grass relays my mileage needs to go up considerably. Will go for a 4-6 tonight nice and easy.

Today was a "recovery run" monday wednesday and fridays are supposed to be a little wasier, and tuesday,thurs, and saturday harder. We were told to go run for 65 minutes. Some easy run. Went on the black trail and then lehi dip, went through a bunch of big dirt piles, which wasn't the brightest thing i've done. Jacob biabee, craik, and i stayed with the fast guys until almost smiths. We got lost after a while and went through some nieghborhoods iv'e never knew existed, went through some backyards, jumped a couple of fences, but he finally found our way back to alpine highway, I decided to go towards mountain ridge for a bir, but caik and jacob took the shortcut back to legacy. I came home in 68.5 minutes. Our head coach came to practice for the first time today, and from the start i decided i didn't like him. He came to tell us that on thursday and friday at the high school there will be a clinic with olympic coaches there to talk about speed training and other stuff about running! I am gonna miss that though, so i am super bummmed. I leave tomorrow for lake powell for a week. At the end of the run, howie was lost again. We never found him this time. I'm getting way excited for xc camp, and i wish i could be with PG who i am pretty sure leaves today for theirs.

I went running all last week, but i didn't do any hills, and I payed the price for it. 5x660m hill sprints on dustin's hill. Myfirst was the slowest by far. 3:28. For the rest under 3:10. there weren't very many guys there today. Only 5 did the amount that they were supposed to do. lil warner did 7, and had a negatice split on all of them! His fastest was 2:24.Ran back to legacy and did a few miles barefoot afterwards with jacob(jensen) and steve morrin. I finished right in front of steve just to say that i beat a BYU runner in a run.

Finally back with the team. Did the mountain run today. Not very many people there today. It was: marc, steve, steven, jacob jensen, zack, jamison, seth and me. Jamison's back was hurting a lot, and he told me that he broke it last summer, so hopefully it's nothing too serious. Ran with steven the last 3ish miles. Went by the girls team the lst mile, and we picked it up a lot then. Our last mile was a 5:58. Averaged a 7:45 for the whole run.

the workout was: a 55 minute run with 2 five minute pickups at 5k race pace. The were barely any guys there today. Just me, zack, jacob(jensen), justin, and craik. I wanted to beat justin. But he killed it today, and stayed within 25 yards of zack the whole time. THe bell tower today played america the beutiful instead of 8 gongs, which was cool. For the 2 five minute pickups, if i went a whole mile for those, I would have been at 5:25-30 on the first, and 5:30-35 on the second. LAtely I've had a really hard time having fun when running, which isn't good. I've been dreading practice, and I used to look forward to it. I think the best thing would go to PG's Practice for a week, but i think i would get in trouble for it. Everyday i have missed my old team, but today was 10x worse. Hopefully XC camp next week changes my mind on not having fun while running. I might go with my sister tonight, because easy miles while talking to someone can be fun. I changed my schedule for the 7th time today, and hopefully the last. I am a lot happier with the classes I have now compared to what I have. They have totally changed the way skyward looks, and i think it's cooler.

4 miles right before dinner. My sister couldn't join me, so i went by myself. Raced a golf cart for a little bit, but besides that super boring. I want to go to practice at PG super badly. Averaged a 7:17.

I did some research on how to make runs less boring and some of the stuff was pretty cool here's a couple of them

think about the girl you like, studies have shown you speed up then!. Smile for as long as possible, try not going into shadows, balancing on curb when running.

Much better run than yesterday. I forgot my watch, but i would estimate about 63 minutes. It was just me and jacob for most of it. We lost steven .5 miles into it, which was weird, because he's usually up with the "A" group for half of the run or so. With about a mile left, me and jacob started to race each other, but then a old lady stopped us and asked us to help her. Somehow when she was pulling into her driveway she ran over a landscaping rock( it was a smaller one, but still a good sized one). SHe asked us if we knew how to get it out. I told her to just go back and forth, little by little and you could get out. She asked me to do it! I was a little scared of scraping up her car, bec ause it was a newer car. But, i got it out without a single scrape. Continued our race afterwards and i won by about 10 seconds.

My first saturday practice with LP. I have either slept in or been out of town. Did Hog's Hollow. I stink at uphill and it showed. THe faster guys probably spend 10 minutes waiting for me throughout the run. took a pit stop at sliding rock, got cooled off and ran back to legacy. The guys that were at practice yesterday were the exact same today. Got home and at 4 bowls of corn flakes.

I don't know why i did this, but i wanted to finish in the top 25 for mileage this week. 4 of these miles were barefoot.

My right knee started to hurt a lot after those 6 miles, which i did around noon. Around 2 it was really painful to go downstairs. My brother happened to have a physical today, and our doctor is my uncle, so i tagged along to see if he could figure it out. THe thing i have is a repetitice thing, which i had in track right before i moved to virginia. It's runner's knee, which is pretty common. It's caused from the kneecap moving around the way it's not supposed to, and a sudden intensity or uptake in running. I went up about 7 miles from last week, but my runs were a lot faster than last week. People with runner's knee are usually out  6-12 weeks. I wanted to cry when he said that. Good-bye XC camp, the first 3-5 races and other fun things. I shouldn't have done those 6 miles. I will probably take next week off, and then go some really easy runs the week after that. I am going to be doing a lot of biking and swimming.

I have missed running a lot, so i risked a run. Felt fine for the first 2 miles, the last one not as much. I decided i would go to XC camp. I couldn't go last year and probs not nxt year, and i really want to go. my first 2 miles were sub 7 and my last around 8

Looks like you also went hard with a 3 miler. It's a lot harder running right after biking. You should try it. I didn't think it'd be that bad, but it's hard.

talked to ryan at practice, and he said what i was doing to my knee was good, but said to also use a roller stick. I'm gonna go ha=ft to buy one. Went to the trailhead of sliding rock and back. Knee felt awesome!! Changed my soles and wore a knee brace, and it seemed like it helped.

Slept in on accident. I was feeling a little sick, so i didn't go by myself. LAter in the morning i was at the new Utah Run store, and i bought a stick thingy to help with my knee. Connor Mcmillan was working there, and i talked to him for a bit. He's actually a pretty cool guy.
